The Ph.D. in Education Policy will prepare scholars for careers in academia, think tanks and public service in the field of K-12 education policy. The program of study will engage students in education policy research, based on the social sciences and other academic disciplines, supported by empirical methods.

The Department of Education Reform's doctoral degree in education policy received final approval from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education on July 25, 2008. Applications are being accepted now for students to begin the degree program in the fall of 2009.
