Md. Juwel Ahmed Sarker is a Doctoral Academy Fellow and Graduate Assistant at the Department of Education Reform (EDRE), University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA. He is also an Assistant Professor and former Chairman of the Department of Development Studies at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, Bangladesh. Additionally, he has served as an Assistant Proctor and Assistant Hall Superintendent at HSTU.

Before transitioning to academia, Mr. Sarker worked as a Program Officer for the Skills for Employment Investment Program (SEIP) at Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), a leading not-for-profit organization in Bangladesh. He also held positions as a Junior Consultant for the National Land Zoning Project (NLZP) under the Ministry of Land, and as a Research Associate at the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) under the Ministry of Finance, Bangladesh.

His research interests include teaching effectiveness, school finance, and the application of machine learning in education policy. He has secured several grants from the Ministry of Planning, the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Institute of Training and Research at HSTU. Mr. Sarker has also served as an evaluation expert for projects led by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO).

He holds a Master of Economics (Mecon) in Development Economics from the Dhaka School of Economics, and both a Bachelor and a Master of Social Science in Development Studies from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
