Meredith is a second-year doctoral student at the University of Arkansas Department of Education Reform's education policy Ph.D. program. Prior to this program, Meredith taught high school social studies for four years in North Carolina Public Schools. Originally, she had intended this to be a lifelong career as she found teaching intellectually engaging, meaningful, and constantly new. While she loved teaching, the pressures from outside the classroom distracted from her ability to focus solely on caring for students, and she began to seek different options.

Now, Meredith is at the University of Arkansas as a Distinguished Doctoral Fellow and Graduate Assistant in the Department of Education Reform. EDRE offers a new way for Meredith to care about students and teachers, and she has found new passions in analyzing ways to improve the teaching profession for practitioners.

Over the next few years, Meredith desires to grow in mixed method approaches to solving complex problems surrounding teacher working conditions and wellbeing.
