Samuel is a first-year Education Policy PhD student hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religion and a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Classical Education from Hillsdale College. In addition, he has multiple years of experience teaching, both in independent and public schools, as well as experience working in standardized testing, standards alignment, and assessment benchmarks. Samuel's research into the cross-section of dual language education and Latin instruction in K-12 classical schools won Top 3 Papers at the Classical Education Forum in February 2024. He is currently working on research at the intersection of Career Technical Education (CTE) and classical schools, Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Family Child Care, and classical school staffing and teacher pipeline reform. Samuel and his wife Carly live in Northwest Arkansas and enjoy talking long walks, exploring new places and cuisines, and watching football together.
