Sarah is a native Arkansan with a unique educational background and skill set. Raised in a rural town by a teacher and family farmer, she has a strong personal connection to both the Natural State and the field of education.
After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Sarah enrolled in the William H. Bowen School of Law in Little Rock. Upon completing law school, she worked in the legal field prior to pivoting her focus to education policy.
While pursuing her Master of Education from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she worked with multiple districts across the state to gain more insight about the current education system. During her time as a classroom teacher, she instructed students on topics related to United States history, psychology, sociology and English.
Sarah is a doctoral fellow and graduate assistant for the Department of Education Reform. Her broader research interests include increasing student opportunity and success after high school, with a focus on the impact of internships on students’ social capital.
