Temurbek R. Rakhmatov is a first-year Doctoral Academy Fellow and Graduate Assistant in the Department of Education Reform. He is from Uzbekistan, with 5 + years of experience strengthening data-driven decision-making in basic education systems. Most recently, he worked for the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, designing dynamic data-collection templates and supporting 30 countries across Asia-Pacific to report SDG 4 indicators. Prior to that, he served as Senior MERLA (Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Assessment) Specialist at RTI International on Uzbekistan Education for Excellence Program, leading large-scale assessments, research studies, and overseeing 13 performance indicators for more than 1,000 schools nation-wide.
Temurbek joined the Ph.D. program in Education Policy (EDRE) to fuse advanced analytics with on-the-ground insights. He is interested in leveraging speech-to-text and large-language models to auto-code lessons and deliver actionable feedback at scale and applying social-network analysis to trace how educators influence one another when adopting student-centered pedagogy.
