Kunyou immigrated to the U.S. from southern China with her family when she was 11 years old and has called SoCal home ever since. She graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a BA in music and later completed her multiple subject teaching credential at Biola University. Prior to joining EDRE, Kunyou was a Chinese dual language teacher at a public school near home. During her time in the classroom, Kunyou not only developed curricula and teaching strategies in the target language but also gained insights into much of the broader issues in the education system. As she begins her PhD journey, she is looking forward to asking questions and discussing in an open space.
In her spare time, Kunyou enjoys reading, learning piano music, and making rice and soup dishes from Mom's recipe.
